What the report builder does

Standard financial statement templates rarely match the exact question a founder or board member is asking. Fintra's report builder starts from live ledger data and lets you choose accounts, dimensions, filters, and time periods freely, with graph and table views for the result.

  • Freely chosen accounts, dimensions, and filters, not a fixed template
  • Graph and table views generated from the same live data
  • Reports built once can be saved and rerun for any period
  • Drill-down from any report line to the underlying transactions

What Fintra report builder covers

How it works

From a question to a saved report

  1. 1

    Choose your data

Select the accounts, dimensions, and time period the report should cover.

  2. 2

    Filter and group

Apply filters and group by department, class, or any dimension you track.

  3. 3

    Choose the view

Render the result as a table, a graph, or both.

  4. 4

    Save and reuse

Save the report definition so it can be rerun for any future period without rebuilding it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I build a report that does not match a standard financial statement?

Yes. The report builder is not limited to standard income statement or balance sheet templates - you choose the accounts, dimensions, filters, and grouping, so the report matches the specific question you are answering.

Are the reports live or a point-in-time snapshot?

Reports are generated from live ledger data each time they are run. A saved report definition can be rerun for the current period or any past period and will reflect the actual posted data for that period.

Can I drill from a report number into the transactions behind it?

Yes. Any line in a built report can be drilled into to see the underlying transactions that produced it, so a number that looks off can be investigated immediately rather than requiring a separate export.

Can I share a saved report with someone else on the team?

Yes. Saved report definitions can be shared so others run the same report against current data, keeping everyone looking at a consistent definition rather than slightly different manual versions of the same analysis.
